Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) members Firdos Khan and Kiran Negi have alleged that more than 700 women of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) have not received salary since November 2023. It is alleged that after resigning from the post of Chief of Delhi Commission for Women, Swati Maliwal is making false claims against the Delhi government for systematically ending the commission. Maliwal had accused the Delhi government of systematically ending the DCW after resigning from her chief post on Tuesday.
Swati Maliwal had written a letter in which she had mentioned things related to the Women’s Commission. At the same time, Firdos Khan and Kiran Negi, referring to this letter, said that all the work done by the DCW team since 2015 under various programs such as 181 Women Helpline, Rape Crisis Cell, Mobile Helpline, Mahila Panchayat and other programs has been accurately recorded in your letter.
Unfortunately though, you failed to mention that it was the vision of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister to improve women safety in Delhi that led to the DCW budget increasing from Rs 5 crore in 2015 to Rs 35 crore just two years later. It was only after the full support of the Hon’ble Chief Minister that DCW was able to expand its operations by 700 times.
